The festival will have opening ceremonies starting at 9:30 at Berryland Motors where Mrs. Irma Thomas, the Soul Queen of New Orleans who was born in Ponchatoula, will receive  The Lifetime Achievement Award from The Northshore Regional Endowment For The Arts.   She will also be the first inductee into The Northshore Museum of Music & Art.  After this, a new 72'x8' mural entitled "Ponchatoula Celebrates The Arts" will be unveiled.  Music will begin after this promptly at 10:00.  The lifesized sculpture entitled "The Horticulture Lesson" will be unveiled at 11:00AM.

The Jani King School of Children's Art Stage:  This will feature local art teachers who will teach hands on art lessons to children during the day.  The stage will be located at the Country Market on their back porch right next to the Daily Star Stage.
