Cool Changes
In June of 1999 Kelly Watts,
a native of Ponchatoula,LA, wanted to begin a new hobby, playing drums. Kelly went out, bought a cheap set of drums and
began to play. Kelly had a few close friends
that play drums to help him learn the basics. After
learning the basics he joined the "Bayou Jam Band." Now 4 years later he has his own 5 piece band
which includes Kelly Watts as drummer/vocalist, Kevin Smith on lead guitar/vocalist, Mike
Cowart on bass guitar, Jodi Klien as the female vocalist, that loves to shake her
maracca's and Carl smith on Rythum guitar/vocalist.
Kevin Smith was born in
Austin, Texas in 1964. Now at 38 has been
living in Ponchatoula,La all his life. Kevin
has been playing guitar for 20 years. Also, a
lead vocalist, backup vocalist and lead guitarist.
Michael Cowart is 26 years
old and was born in Hammond, LA. He now lives
in Holden LA. Mike has been playing bass
guitar for 6 years. Mike is also formally of
the Straight Shot band. ( He is the quiet one of the group.)
Jodi Klein is 21 years old
and was born in Opelousos, LA. Jodi was
raised in Loranger and has been singing for 12 years.
She has sang at local festivals and talent shows since the age of 12. Jodi also went to Nashville, TN, to compete in
Star Seek.
Carl Smith was born in
Hammond, La and is 32 years old. He has lived
in Ponchatoula, La his entire life. Carls
talents include playing Rythum guitar, keyboards for 12 years, lead vocalist , backup vocalist and
acoustic guitar. |
