Gina Tarajano.jpg (32637 bytes)Gina Tarajano is a recording artist and songwriter whose genre is adult contemporary pop. Her roots are founded in jazz having recorded such jazz standards as "New York State of Mind" and " The Best is Yet to Come." Gina has been accompanied by jazz musicians such as pianists, Ronnie Kole and Mike Esneault. Her early recordings were orchestrated by pianist/composer, Mike Esneault, who has performed with many greats including Wynton Marsalis, Pete Fountain and more. Drawing inspiration from the rich jazz heritage of New Orleans and artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, and Billie Holiday, Gina generates a vision for her own music. She uses some of the techniques learned from these great legends together with her own creative improvisational talent and incorporates this with the contemporary pop sounds of today. Through experience and training, she combined these elements and evolved as a distinct artist with a unique style. "Some of my best work has emerged when my mind is clear and I Iet go, trusting my instincts."

Gina has a great passion for her music and her powerful voice captivates audiences. Her deep felt emotions reach into the hearts of the listeners and move them. Remarkably, she has a local following of all ages. She also believes that her work should influence the world in a positive way. " Music has always been my personal outlet. It's been a joy for me to see how others are affected by my music as well."

She has begun to see her dreams become a reality with her new recording "From The Heart". In this recording, she had the opportunity to work with producer, Nils Jiptner in Los Angeles. Nils is an accomplished recording artist, session guitarist, composer, and music producer. "From the Heart" features Gina in three songs. They display her flexibility as a vocalist. The first song " The Power Inside of Me" is an empowering mid tempo tune with jammin' lead guitar by Nils. Next is "Inside Your Heart", an original ballad written by Uli Reese. The third is a funky vibe tune enntitled "A Little More Love" written by Harold Payne and Jai Josefs. Gina grooves with background vocals, Clydene Jackson Edwards and Harold Payne. "From the Heart" is not just a display of Gina's talent but a compilation of well noted artists. It rocks with talent featuring Steve Ferrone on drums and Tommy Coster, Jr. on loops. Gina remarks, "This body of work truly comes from my heart, it embodies a reality of a lifelong dream. I am proud to have brought together such a talented and diversified group on this project. In Louisiana, we make gumbo, and that's what we do when we make music. Every artist brings his or her own flavor to the mix."  Contact Gina at rockon@bellsouth.net.
