About JamFest Indie Film Festival (JIFF):

. JamFest Indie Film Festival will feature films produced by independent filmmakers. The festival is held in Hammond, Louisiana, a community of over 20,000 people, home of Southeastern Louisiana University, the fastest growing university in the nation, also with a strong tradition of supporting the arts. In addition, Hammond is at the crossroads of two great cities; 55 miles north of New Orleans and 40 miles east of Baton Rouge
Eligibility and Rules
• The competition is open to any film or video completed after January 1, 2008. • Award Categories include: Features: Fiction, Animation, Experimental, Multimedia (40 minutes or longer) Shorts: Fiction, Animation, Experimental, Multimedia, Trailer, Music Video, Dance for the Camera (under 39 minutes) Documentary Features (40 minutes and over) Documentary Shorts (under 39 minutes) • The Festival will accept DVD, VHS, Quicktime formats for pre-view screening. • Accepted films must be available on DVD for Festival screenings. • Productions that are not in English must be subtitled or dubbed in English. • Each entry must be submitted with completed entry form and entry fee. • Press Kit is required, but only after acceptance for screening. • All cash awards will be given to the primary applicant. • Recycled or scratched discs will be disqualified; therefore, please send a new disc. • Works in progress will not be accepted for consideration.
Release
• Submission of an entry allows the festival permission to use the work submitted in whole or part (including stills for promotion and publicity purposes.) • JIFF accepts no responsibility for breaches in copyright and the entrant releases JIFF for any and all claims and liabilities with respect to screening the entry before, during and after the festival. • The entrant grants JIFF the rights to reproduce the work submitted to include it as part of a compilation for the purposes of promoting the festival and to exhibit the work by any means of communication to the public. • The entrant warrants that all rights of the submitted work are cleared for festival usage by the festival submission deadline.
Acknowledgment of Receipt and Film Return Policy
When your entry is processed we shall notify you via e-mail. The festival will not be held responsible for loss or damage through post or handling. Unfortunately, due to high volume, all materials submitted cannot be returned.

Notification
Films selected for screening at the 2011 festival will be notified via e-mail no later than August 15, 2011. If no e-mail is available then notification will be mailed by the above date. Notifications of non-accepted entries will be e-mailed or mailed on the same date.

Louisiana Filmmaker Submissions:
JIFF will also give an award to the best Louisiana submission; specifically to the filmmaker/director on the film being submitted who has also been a resident of Louisiana for at least one year as of January 2009.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS • JamFest Indie Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
• The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
• The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless JamFest Indie Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
Winning Filmmakers will have the option of having their work broadcast on local Southeastern Louisiana University cable channel beyond the festival dates. Southeatern Louisiana University is a not for profit organization.
