    Preston Smith grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He Graduated from Tom C. Clark High School in 1992, and moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Texas Wesleyan University. At Wesleyan, Preston studied Music Performance and Sports Management. In 1996, Preston moved to Gunnison, Colorado to attend Western State College of Colorado. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Western in the fall of 2000. After Graduation, Preston moved to Hammond, Louisiana to attend graduate school at Southeastern Louisiana University. He was the band graduate assistant, a member of the Faculty Brass Quintet, and he conducted the athletic band. On August 18, 2001 Preston was featured playing the National Anthem at the New Orleans Saints Vs. Dallas Cowboys in the Louisiana Superdome. 
    Mr. Smith is currently the Head Band Director at Holy Ghost School, Choir and Band Director at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and Choir Director at Holy Rosary Church.  

    Along with partners Ted Hudspeth, Tim Lantrip, and Reggie Sanders,  Preston will be opening SugaCane’s Jazz & Blues Restaurant and SugaScoop’s Ice Cream Parlor.  He is also currently on the Board of Director’s of the Northshore chapter of the Louisiana Restaurant’s Association.
