Saturday; May 12, 2007 Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 at the Alligator Stage. Come to see this year's Life Achievement Award winner, Mrs. Kim Howes Zabbia, as we present her with her award. If you have ever been one of her art students, we encourage you to come and support her as we present her with her award.
This year, we will initiate our first dedicated financial endowment. Named The Kim Howes Zabbia Art Education Endowment, all monies donated towards this fund will be invested in the art education classes in the Ponchatoula school district at the High School and Junior High School levels. As a perpetual endowment, the principal invested in this will never be touched and the annual proceeds from the fund will be give to these two art programs to purchase supplies needed to teach students in an effective manner.
The music will begin at all of the stages at 10:00 AM. Enjoy the bands until 7:00 PM that evening.
Stop by the Supporter's Booth near the corner of NW Railroad Avenue and Hwy 22 and purchase this year's festival poster which was designed and drawn by local artist, Jake McGehee.
