Jarhett, JR, Shawn, Bobby, Michael The Straight Shot band is known for their all occasion music. Being together since 1999, they have ventured into the music world playing everything from country to rock n roll. Jarhett Threeton (vocals/rhythm guitarist) and Michael Cowart (bassist) started out as childhood freinds with a will to learn to play music. Darrell Cowart, Michael's father, showed them the basics on the guitar and bass and they took off with it. They learned to play and sing country music in a barn. Venturing out they met up with Shawn Buras (drummer) who had just moved into the Ponchatoula area. He had just left his previous band Bayou Groove and was looking to join a local band. Shawn was a rock n roll drummer which brought new music and style to the group. Bobby Soles (vocals/rythm/lead guitarist) also joined the band bringing a variety of all types of music. He had been playing in the local area for years. After just a few months they started playing parties, weddings and local scenes. Later, they met up with JR Bourg (lead guitarist) who brought the style of lead guitar playing that they were looking for.
